The 2010 Australasian Engineering Education Excellence Awards

The general mission of AaeE is to improve the quality, relevance and performance of engineering education in Australasia. The AaeE Engineering Education Excellence Awards allow us to identify, showcase and reward the work of our members committed to fostering excellence and innovation in engineering education. As previous, we will be looking for initiatives that address recommendations outlined in the ALTC-funded report Addressing the Supply & quality of Engineering Graduates for the New Century written by Emeritus Professor Robin King. The selection panel will also be looking for ways that the applicant(s) have contributed to the Engineering Education community. The awards for 2010 will be:

  • One AaeE Teaching Excellence Award for $2000
  • Three AaeE awards for Programs that Enhance Excellence in Learning, each valued $2000 with one award in each of the following categories:
    • Innovation in curricula, learning and teaching
    • Educational Partnerships and collaboration with other organisations
    • Outreach Services

For this award the term Program encompasses a whole degree program, a specific course or group of courses, a project, or educational module.

    Citations
Submissions are also invited for Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning in Engineering. Up to Four citations will be identified and each awarded a certificate. No monetary award applies in this case. One citation will be reserved as an encouragement award for a new academic ie someone who has been teaching for less than five (5) years.
