Continuity of Support
Continuity of Support helps families whose children are not eligible for the NDIS continue accessing disability services after Better Start funding ends.
Individualised funding under the HCWA and Better Start programs is transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and is due to cease on 31 March 2021.
Continuation of Supports is available for eligible children who have not met access to the NDIS.
- be a current HCWA/Better Start client and under the age of seven as at 31 March 2021; and
- have residual HCWA/Better Start funding as at 31 March 2021; and
- have tested their eligibility for the NDIS and been found ineligible; and
- reside in Australia.
Continuity of Support, or CoS, is a commitment by the Australian Government to ensure existing clients of Commonwealth funded disability programs who are not eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) are supported to achieve similar outcomes to those they were aiming to achieve prior to the introduction of the NDIS.
